Oh my goodness, I needed to read this poem 🥹😭 My parents are in the middle of moving from my childhood home and I live overseas so I can't go and help them and sift through memories with them. It breaks my heart that whoever owns it next is not going to know how much that home meant to me -- full of heartbreak, yet also full of freedom and happy memories. But this poem reminded me that home REALLY is more than just a noun, and while letting go will still be a little hard and a little sad, it's going to be ok ❤️ Thank you for writing 🥰
Bethany! I love the many avenues you take in your poem to explore what home is—beyond the physical location of a place.
