sometimes i want a physical address sometimes i want to write my prayers in cursive & slip them in an envelope addressed to God: all this ethereal jargon is unfulfilling sometimes i need to lick a postage stamp sometimes i need stationary & a zip code maybe it’s childish that I care to know if our prayers are making the journey
Poems & Paraboles publishes work that illuminates, awakens, or opens a small window toward wonder. Some pieces are quiet. Some are bold. Some carry a moral thread, while others wander into the mysterious and ethereal.
Poets and storytellers are invited to submit their work. Selected pieces will be posted and featured throughout the year. See Submission Guidelines!

This is so beautifully raw and honest, Kassi. That longing for something tangible, a zip code, an envelope, a sign that our prayers are received, really spoke to me. “All this ethereal jargon is unfulfilling” says what so many of us feel but don’t always say. Such a powerful piece. 🥰😊❤️🔥
Stationery, a good pen, a postage stamp.... I hear you :-) I suppose we can look at our prayers as written in invisible ink, maybe, sent to an unseen place?
