Zane! Your poem takes me to a reflective place where I sense my own numbness to the world around me, while also recognizing the moral thread your poem ushers in. Pondering the jaybirds passing—we can walk anew to the beauty of our world and never take what we are given for granted.
Okay, I have to admit, when I saw the title of this poem in my inbox, I thought it would be another cliche. However, I love your unique (and uniquely compassionate) twist on the phrase “bird’s eye view”! What a delightful surprise!
The speaker’s tenderness towards nature bled through the entire poem. I found myself envisioning each line as if I were the speaker, myself. What a beautiful poem to open up my morning with. Thank you for sharing 😊
Wow, what a humbling perspective. I felt that sting of knowing you’ve been asleep to the world outside your own eyelids and waking up to the jolt of life’s temporary-ness.

Thanks for giving it a chance. I am not always great at titles, haha.

It was a fantastic title! You turned the cliche on its head 😊

Thanks, Destiny! This was a real thing that happened to me so I'm glad I could transmit that kind of feeling.
Tender. Beautiful.
Wonderfully convicting and therefore hopeful!
Brilliant.
Thank you, Joe.
